This week ended up with lots of procrastination.
DAMN IT!!
Anyway, here are some insights from last week!!
Enjoy!!

This guy’s video never fails to amuse me.
He is (probably) the only YouTuber who gives real insights on job hunting, corporate bullsh*t, etc…
Anyways, 2024!!
1st day of the year (I mean 2nd😅, technically).
Didn’t even document yesterday.
Also, here are some shortcuts that might be useful for you.

So, here’s some thoughts that I had today that I think people should wonder about.
Should you apply for more than one job? Given the fact that the current job market is a bit tighter than usual should we start applying for jobs where we can apply more than 30% of our skills

Oh, man!! I was burnt out🔥🔥!!
Not every day will be a good (or) a great day🌞. Some days will be hard and some days will not!
You just have to be willing to push through that day, take breaks whenever you can, and recharge⚡ that battery🔋 of yours.
Here’s why I think we get burnt out.
We don’t plan our day⛅ or our week📆 ahead
We don’t have this mindset of “ADAPTING TO SITUATIONS”
Staying in your comfort zone for a long time⌛
Too much consumption of content (or) scrolling on Social Media🤳🏻
Anyway, while I was on my way to work, I was listening to this podcast by Chris Do where the guest, Loren Greiff was talking about the importance of networking.
Here are some key points from the podcast (though I’ve only listened to the 1st half of it😅):
Networking is like the “BROCCOLI🥦” of business. Everybody knows that it’s good for your body, it’s healthy, it’s necessary and yet only a few people will actually go ahead and eat it.
AI🤖 can never replace human feelings, going out and meeting a person for the 1st time, having a conversation with them, etc… These things can never be replaced by AI.
Networking can take you to places you would never even expect to.
Networking is the trampoline that allows you to get where you want to go faster.

Phone addiction always gets the worst of you!!
Anyway, I was watching this video and thinking, “How far will people spend their money on things that make little to no sense?”
For context, a lot of Indians are obsessed with Astrology, so much so that people are willing to spend a lot of money on it (rich or poor, it doesn’t matter).
Some key points from the video:
Loneliness epidemic is a serious problem in India
Religion and faith are the only areas where people will not hesitate to spend.
According to a 2021 survey, 43% of Indians suffer from loneliness, making India the 3rd country on the list.
Most people aren’t entirely dependent on Astrology but they want someone to talk and listen to. These people are anxious and lonely, looking for answers.
And another great video from a great YouTuber that I came across

I visited another design community event yesterday. It was such a great event! The theme was “get uncomfortable”.
Oftentimes in our lives, we get so used to our daily routines that we forget to explore new avenues of our lives. It’s important to have that spark in our minds🧠 and not let it die.
After attending such events, it’s becoming much more clearer that I can’t just sit and learn and learn and do nothing about a career switch. Something has to be done.
A lot of designers recommended having at least one case study before applying for jobs.
The industry is going in a different direction.
If you want change in your life, you have to work on it. No excuses🙅🏻♂️.
Let’s start by taking charge of our lives and not let our desires (or) urges take control of us.
See ya next week!
Signing off,
Mohammed Junaid!!
